Heartburn
by Maryke

I used to take the tincture and found that it gave me dreadful heartburn. I read about the pros & cons of taking caps and note that tincture may be better, so just wanted to know what caused the heartburn?
Such a great website,
Thank you!!

Hi Maryke,
To be honest this is the first time I have heard of olive leaf extract causing heartburn, in fact, it is on record for preventing acid reflux from the stomach with the accompanying symptoms of heartburn.
Most probably in your case, alcohol is a trigger for heartburn, as it is for a lot of people.
For you, a capsule or a glycerol-based tincture would be a better option. I am sure if you tried these you would have no problem with heartburn, and they may give you relief from other incidences of heartburn as well.
I would suggest you try a fairly mild capsule, either containing only good quality olive leaf or a mixture of olive leaf and olive leaf extract.
I would be very interested to know if this fixes the problem. If you do give it a try, please let me know.
Thank you for your contribution.
